<p><span style="color: #000000;">Hey! What&#8217;s happening with the iPhone&#8217;s new 4.0 operating system, which is getting a first airing on the 8th of April? Let&#8217;s fire our speculation cannon at the sky and see what falls!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The Guardian has a great post up, cherrypicking the best features touted round the web including:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">- support for the rumoured second front camera, which means mobile iChat. Yay!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">- a global message inbox and contact &#8217;speed dial&#8217; for valued contacts.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">- slightly more fanciful, but could a Spotify-killing iTunes streaming service be on the way? We think&#8230;no. Nice thought though.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Check out the rest <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/pda/2010/apr/06/iphone-apple" target="_blank">here</a>&#8230;or you could wait until the 8th and indulge in some FACTS, but where would be the fun in <em>that</em>?</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Not prepared to wait until the 8th to join the iPhone gang? How about checking out the latest <a title="iphone deals" href="http://www.omio.com/iphone-deals">iPhone deals</a>, including the newly added <a title="vodafone iphone deals" href="http://www.omio.com/iphone-deals/vodafone-iphone">Vodafone iPhone deals</a>. Some were surprises, many were deserving, all are great.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Without further ado, here are the big winners of the Mobile Choice Awards:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Most Stylish Phone</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><img class="size-large wp-image-550 aligncenter" title="bl40official" src="http://mobilerelease.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/bl40official2-1024x590.jpg" alt="bl40official" width="442" height="255" /><br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/lg/bl40-new-chocolate" target="_blank">LG New Chocolate BL40</a> &#8211; </strong>None can argue that the striking stylings of this fashion phone were anything less than catwalk quality. A marriage of unorthodox looks with a 21:9 display, and a classic minimalist black finish had the Chocolate head and shoulders above the rest.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Runners-up:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>HTC Touch Diamond2</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Apple iPhone 3GS</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Samsung i8910HD</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Best Multimedia Phone</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><img class="size-full wp-image-551 aligncenter" title="samsung-omniahd-i8910-hd-video-recording-1" src="http://mobilerelease.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/samsung-omniahd-i8910-hd-video-recording-1.jpg" alt="samsung-omniahd-i8910-hd-video-recording-1" width="344" height="256" /></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/samsung/i8910-hd" target="_blank"><strong>Samsung i8910HD</strong></a> &#8211; 3.7&#8243; AMOLED display? HD video recording? 8.1 megapixel camera? <strong>Yes</strong>.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Runners-up:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>LG Chocolate BL40</em></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/sony-ericsson/satio" target="_blank"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Sony Ericsson Satio</em></span></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Nokia N97</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Apple iPhone 3GS</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Best Camera Phone</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><img class="size-full wp-image-552 aligncenter" title="samsung-pixon-12" src="http://mobilerelease.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/samsung-pixon-12.jpg" alt="samsung-pixon-12" width="215" height="276" /></strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><br />
</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/samsung/pixon12-m8910" target="_blank">Samsung Pixon 12</a> &#8211; </strong>For once, the numbers aren&#8217;t just for bragging rights as the first 12 megapixel camera phone also proved to be the best, with a suite of features commonly found on dedicated gadgets. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">Runners-up:</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>LG Viewty Smart GC900</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Nokia N86 8MP</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Sony Ericsson C905 +</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Best Social Networking Handset</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><img class="size-full wp-image-553 aligncenter" title="INQ1" src="http://mobilerelease.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/1209.jpg" alt="INQ1" width="288" height="288" /><br />
</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>INQ1</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">3&#8217;s &#8216;little handset that could&#8217; takes down the bevy of smart phone beauties by being a pocket dynamo in the social stakes. Liaising happily with Windows Live and Skype, the coup de grace is the merged contact list formed by hooking up with Facebook. Profiles, status and images all sync perfectly, leaving you with a perfect phone for popular folks that doesn&#8217;t dent the bank, let alone break it.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">Runners-up:</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>HTC Hero</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Nokia N97</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>LG GW520</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/blackberry/curve-8520" target="_blank"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>BlackBerry Curve 8520</em></span></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Phone Of The Year</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><img class="size-full wp-image-554 aligncenter" title="HTC Hero" src="http://mobilerelease.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Picture-11.png" alt="HTC Hero" width="570" height="221" /></strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><br />
</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">The <a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/htc/hero" target="_blank"><strong>HTC Hero</strong></a> ticks <em>all</em> of the boxes as far as a strong handset is concerned. Embracing the new Android operating system, HTC&#8217;s Sense UI manages to offer a fun, intuitive, slick and (above all else) practical interface, without choosing to ape Apple&#8217;s groundbreaking device.<br />
</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">The form factor might be a little divisive in terms of people&#8217;s tastes, but each design choice is clear, justifiable and makes for a striking phone to look at. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">A deserving winner.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;">Runners-up:</span></p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>LG Viewty Smart GC900</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>LG Chocolate BL40</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #000000;"><em>Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition</em></span></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">After two years of exclusivity on the O2 network, the iPhone has finally appeared on both Orange and Vodafone, with the rival providers offering both the 3G and new 3GS models to their millions of subscribers.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Neither has been candid regarding release dates, but word has it that Orange will make the device available this side of Christmas, whilst Vodafone are to sell the iPhone from early 2010.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">More importantly, the pricing for the <a href="http://www.omio.com/blog/mobile-phone-handset-news/omio-exclusive-iphone-3g-turns-orange-in-october/" target="_blank">iPhone on Orange</a> has not been made public as yet, sparking talk of an imminent price war between themselves and the present sole retailer, O2.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The premium that has been placed on the device has kept the iPhone out of the reaches of many, but the resultant competition on price is sure to drive costs down and benefit the consumer in the long run.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">O2 has seen this day coming and has managed to benefit hugely from the iPhone&#8217;s exclusivity, with over 1million customers signed up on <a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/apple/iphone-3g/deals" target="_blank">iPhone 3G deals</a> and <a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/apple/iphone-3g-s-16gb/deals" target="_blank">3GS contracts</a> alone over the two years.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">However, with alternatives like the <a href="http://www.omio.com/phones/palm/pre" target="_blank">Palm Pre</a> already secured in their armoury of O2-only devices, they are certainly ready for a future where the playing field between networks is more level&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Time will tell whether the iPhone is a make-or-break handset for Orange, and if Vodafone&#8217;s late arrival will see them miss the boat. What is undeniable is that the iPhone is still at the height of the public conscious, and the freedom to choose a variety of networks will only see Apple sell more of the heavily-hyped handset.</p>
